Nainen kohtaa tiellä käärmeen, mitä tapahtuu? Woman meets a snake on the road, what happens?

Eiks oo mahtava otsikko? Ihan kuin suoraan iltapäivälehden mainoksesta.

Isn't that one awesome title? Just like directly from and advertisement of an afternoon newspaper. 

Juttuhan meni näin:

This is how the story went:

Ajelin hiekkaisella kylätiellä, kun vieressä istuva ystäväni sanoi: "Tuossahan luikertelee käärme."

I was driving on a sandy village road when my friend sitting beside me said, "There's a snake curling on the road."

Huomasin sen tietysti liian myöhään. Yritin väistää, mutta rengas saattoi kuitenkin mennä käärmeen yli. Se oli nimittäin aika hitsin iso ja pitkä käärme Suomen oloihin. Olen kyllä nähnyt kyykäärmeitä aiemminkin, mutta paljon pienempiä.

While driving over a snake, the tyre does not recognize any kind of stuff, the guy is quite flat already originally. But is it even slimmer after me? What's the advice now? I can not leave a critter suffering, not even a snake.

Pakko mennä katsomaan. Käänsin auton ensimmäisessä mahdollisessa paikassa.

Ja siinähän se lojui liikkumattomana, raukka parka. Auton ikkunasta on kuitenkin paha nähdä, onko käärme litistynyt jostain kohtaa. Vai peräti kuollut. Nytkö minä menen nykimään sitä ja kysymään miten voit?

Jos ajaisin vielä kerran sen päältä, niin ei jäisi kitumaan?

Kunnes rohkea ystäväni hyppäsi autosta ulos ja meni tutkimaan tilannetta. Hän otti pitkän kepin, ja kokeili sillä vähän, onko käärme vielä elossa.

Helpotuksen huokaus. Se oli vain yhtä järkyttynyt kuin minäkin ja lähti luikertelemaan.

Sigh of relief. He was just as shocked as I was and went on curling.

Ja niin käärme sai pitää henkensä.

And so the snake got to keep his life.
