Kissat pelkäävät Novaa, eivätkä halua olla missään tekemissä otuksen kanssa. Nova puolestaan haluaisi niiiiiin kovasti leikkiä kissojen kanssa. Tällä hetkellä kissat viihtyvätkin hyvin paljon ulkona, kaukana koirasta, mutta ehkä Novan rauhoituttua heistä vielä tulee kavereita...tai sitten ei.
Cats are scared of Nova and do not want to have anything to do with this creature. Nova, on the other hand, would love to play with the cats veeeeeery much. At present, the cats love very much to be outdoors, far away from the dog, but perhaps after Nova has calmed, they still will be friends ... or not.
Hevoset eivät välitä hökeltävästä pennusta, jos koiran käytös ei vaikuta heidän ruokailuunsa. Jos hepoilla on kiire johonkin, esim. heinille ja koira meinaa komentaa toiseen suuntaa, niin kavio nousee kyllä uhkauksen merkiksi; "jos et mene matkoihisi, niin potkaisen".
Horses do not care about a rampaging puppy if the dog's behavior does not affect their eating. If the horses are in a hurry for something, for hay for example, and the dog is commanding to another direction, then the hoof will rise to a threat; "If you do not go for your trip, then I kick."
Tarvittaessa Nova kunnioittaa kyllä isompiensa kokoa ja ahtaassa tilassa, kuten tallissa, alistuu hevosille ja pysyy loitolla. Siellä missä tilaa riittää juosta karkuun, voi sitten komennella isompiaan.
If necessary, Nova honors her bigger size and in a cramped space, like in the stable, submits to horses and stays away. Where space is enough to run away, then you can command the bigger.
Haaveissa on, että Novasta saadaan koulutettua niin kuuliainen, että voimme lähteä hevosten kanssa ratsastamaan, koiran kulkiessa nätisti mukana. Ihan vielä tämä hetki ei ole mahdollinen. Novalla on melkoisen isot korvat, mitkä kuulevat hyvin, mutta valikoivasti. Pientä esimurrosikää on ilmassa ja käskyt eivät aina toimi odotetusti. Tällä hetkellä yhteinen ratsastus tarkoittaa sitä, että koira kiertää koko ajan hevosta ympäri, yrittäen välillä tavoittaa jalkaani, että voisi pelastaa minut alas korkeuksista.
In dreams, Nova will be trained so obedient that we can ride with horses, while the dog is walking nicely with us. Just yet, this moment is not possible. Nova has pretty big ears which hear well, but selectivily. Small pre-puberty is in the air and the instructions do not always work as expected. At present, a common riding means that the dog is round the horse all the time trying to reach my leg so that she could save me down from the heights.

Kyllä, sattuu ja tapahtuu. Tarinat eivät vain ole yleensä kovin hauskoja. Ensi reaktio on ennemmin itku ja hampaiden kiristys. Sitten kun ensijärkytyksestä toivutaan, voidaan jo asialle nauraa.
Yes, it happens and takes place. Stories are not just that much fun. The first reaction is rather crying and tightening the teeth. Then when the first shock is recovered, a laugh may already come.
Ensimmäisenä nyt pälkähtää mieleen hevoseni Hnokin temput. Hnokin islannin kielinen nimi tarkoittaa suomeksi pojankoltiasta. Vaikka pojalla on jo ikää 20 v, niin mieleltään kaveri on ikuinen pikkupoika. Hyvin jääräpäinen vekkuli ja utelias kaveri. Kyllähän se vähän hymyilyttää, kun aamulla herätessä katsoo ikkunasta ulos ja vastassa onkin aitauksesta karanneen hevosen turpa, ilkikurisessa virneessä.
First come to my mind the tricks of my horse Hnokki. Hnokki's Icelandic name means a lively boy with lots of pranks. Even though the boy is 20 years old, his mind is a forever little boy. Very stubborn jocose and a curious guy. You may smile a little when you wake up in the morning, looking out of the window, and you face horse's chub in a vicious grin, he has escaped from his fence.
Kerran olimme lähdössä etelänmatkalle ja taksin tuloon oli puoli tuntia aikaa. Tyttäreni kävi antamassa läksiäisporkkanat hevosille. Veräjästä oli vain ylempi sähkölanka kiinni, jolloin kätevän kokoinen hevonen luiskahti vahingossa langan ali. Kellot soi heti pojanklopilla, että tästähän pääsee vapauteen, kun menee vaan ja parin minuutin kuluttua hepo tuli sähkölankojen läpi pariin otteeseen. "Hetkenhän se aitojen sähkö vain kirpaisee, joten kannattaa kärsiä, jos palkintona vapaus" tuumi Hnokki.
Once we were leaving for a trip to south and the taxi would come in half an hour. My daughter was giving farewell carrots to the horses. There was only an upper wire attached to the gate, so a handy sized horse slipped accidentally under the yarn. The bells immediately sounded to him, so now he could get the freedom just by going, and in a couple of minutes the horse came through the electric wires even a couple times. "After all, the electric power hurts only for a while, so it's worth having to suffer if the prize is freedom," thought Hnokki.
Siinä kohtaa tuli kiire alkaa virittämään veräjään lisäsähköjä, että hevoset kestää tarhassa matkamme ajan. Eräiden juhlien jälkeen kotiuduimme aamuyöstä, ja lähdin sitten viemään hevosille valmiiksi aamuheiniä. Piti hieraista silmiä, kun toinen hevosemme Bruni seisoi talon nurkalla, kuin Peppi Pitkätossussa konsanaan. Aidoista ei löytynyt reikiä ja jäi vähän ikuiseksi mysteeriksi, miten hevonen oli ylipäätään päätynyt aidan toiselle puolelle.
At that point, we were in a hurry to start adding more electric power to the fence, so that the horses would endure in the yard during our trip. Once we were in a celebration, and got back at the early morning, and then went to bring morning hays to the horses. Had to rub my eyes when our other horse Bruni stood at the corner of the house as Pippi Longstocking ever. There were no holes found in the fences and remained a bit of an eternal mystery, how the horse had finally reached the other side of the fence.
