Kissat pelkäävät Novaa, eivätkä halua olla missään tekemissä otuksen kanssa. Nova puolestaan haluaisi niiiiiin kovasti leikkiä kissojen kanssa. Tällä hetkellä kissat viihtyvätkin hyvin paljon ulkona, kaukana koirasta, mutta ehkä Novan rauhoituttua heistä vielä tulee kavereita...tai sitten ei.

Cats are scared of Nova and do not want to have anything to do with this creature. Nova, on the other hand, would love to play with the cats veeeeeery much. At present, the cats love very much to be outdoors, far away from the dog, but perhaps after Nova has calmed, they still will be friends ... or not. 

Hevoset eivät välitä hökeltävästä pennusta, jos koiran käytös ei vaikuta heidän ruokailuunsa. Jos hepoilla on kiire johonkin, esim. heinille ja koira meinaa komentaa toiseen suuntaa, niin kavio nousee kyllä uhkauksen merkiksi; "jos et mene matkoihisi, niin potkaisen".

Horses do not care about a rampaging puppy if the dog's behavior does not affect their eating. If the horses are in a hurry for something, for hay for example, and the dog is commanding to another direction, then the hoof will rise to a threat; "If you do not go for your trip, then I kick."

Tarvittaessa Nova kunnioittaa kyllä isompiensa kokoa ja ahtaassa tilassa, kuten tallissa, alistuu hevosille ja pysyy loitolla. Siellä missä tilaa riittää juosta karkuun, voi sitten komennella isompiaan.

If necessary, Nova honors her bigger size and in a cramped space, like in the stable, submits to horses and stays away. Where space is enough to run away, then you can command the bigger.

In dreams, Nova will be trained so obedient that we can ride with horses, while the dog is walking nicely with us. Just yet, this moment is not possible. Nova has pretty big ears which hear well, but selectivily. Small pre-puberty is in the air and the instructions do not always work as expected. At present, a common riding means that the dog is round the horse all the time trying to reach my leg so that she could save me down from the heights.

Ensimmäisenä nyt pälkähtää mieleen hevoseni Hnokin temput. Hnokin islannin kielinen nimi tarkoittaa suomeksi pojankoltiasta. Vaikka pojalla on jo ikää 20 v, niin mieleltään kaveri on ikuinen pikkupoika. Hyvin jääräpäinen vekkuli ja utelias kaveri. Kyllähän se vähän hymyilyttää, kun aamulla herätessä katsoo ikkunasta ulos ja vastassa onkin aitauksesta karanneen hevosen turpa, ilkikurisessa virneessä.

First come to my mind the tricks of my horse Hnokki. Hnokki's Icelandic name means a lively boy with lots of pranks. Even though the boy is 20 years old, his mind is a forever little boy. Very stubborn jocose and a curious guy. You may smile a little when you wake up in the morning, looking out of the window, and you face horse's chub in a vicious grin, he has escaped from his fence.

Kerran olimme lähdössä etelänmatkalle ja taksin tuloon oli puoli tuntia aikaa. Tyttäreni kävi antamassa läksiäisporkkanat hevosille. Veräjästä oli vain ylempi sähkölanka kiinni, jolloin kätevän kokoinen hevonen luiskahti vahingossa langan ali. Once we were leaving for a trip to south and the taxi would come in half an hour. My daughter was giving farewell carrots to the horses. At that point, we were in a hurry to start adding more electric power to the fence, so that the horses would endure in the yard during our trip. Lapsi ja hevonen - A child and a horse

Kuusivuotias Prinsessamme on jo pitkään toivonut pääsevänsä ratsastamaan.

Our six-year-old Princess has long been hoping to ride.

I suspected it was dreams. Daydreams that are not meant to be implemented. How could a six-year-old who has not grown with horses come up with such an idea?

Ja nyt tulee taas kunnon historiapläjäys. Koeta kestää. Kertoo siitä, kun miehet olivat rautaa...

En minä aina ole ollut tällainen nössö isoäiti. 70-luvun lapset rakastivat hevosia ihan yhtä paljon kuin nykyisetkin. Valvonta ja säännöstely vain oli huomattavasti vähäisempää. Sitä päästiin toteuttamaan itseään aika vapaasti.

I have not always been such a sissy grandmother. The children of the 70's loved horses just as much as the current. Monitoring and rationing only were considerably lower. We were free to express ourselves quite freely.
